Seoul, 16 oz.

I had 10 hours of layover in Seoul en route to Seattle. That was plenty of time for a short city tour as well as a City Mug purchase in Downtown Seoul. The KAL bus dropped me off at Westin Chosun and off I went to the Starbucks right outside of the hotel.

Unlike the other Starbucks that I have bought a City Mug from, this one wrapped the mug in a Starbucks cloth-like bag and tied a green Starbucks bow to it. Quite different from the usual tissue and paper bag combination!

In Seoul, you’ll also find a Starbucks where the store sign is written in Hangul. Drop by the Insa-dong District for the photo-op!

Lebanon, 16 oz.

Lilian went to Jerusalem for a business trip. I kept telling her that there’s a Jerusalem City Mug because I have seen it on the internet. So for two weeks, Lilian wasn’t only dodging bombs and bullets, but was also looking for something that didn’t exist anymore. It turned out that Starbucks closed all its Jerusalem stores in 2003 (insert tear drop here). Those Jerusalem City Mugs are now indeed a collector’s item.

On the other side of the battle zone, Russel had a business trip in Lebanon and like Lilian, it has been automatic for him to go inside a Starbucks whereever he is in the world (thanks to my never-ending reminders). He brought me back a Lebanon City Mug as a going-away gift and I was able to get it the day before I left Manila to return to Seattle.

Macau, 20 oz.

Unlike other Asian cities, Macau didn’t have a plethora of Starbucks stores. In fact, the one in Macau Square off the Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (San Man Lo) was the only one I found. Thankfully, the store was full of Macau City Mugs.

By this time of my S.E. Asia trip, I was lugging around 8 mugs in my luggage! I looked like I was smuggling coffee mugs! HaHa!
